The library is currently closed to the public. You will not be able to enter the building to pick up your order. All transactions are contactless and must be done via the steps below or by calling 603-863-3430.
Beginning Tuesday, June 2, 2020, Richards Library will offer contactless curbside pickup. This service will be available by appointment only. Pickup times will be between the hours of 11:30 AM and 5:30 PM on Tuesdays through Fridays and 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM on Saturdays. There will be a limit of ten items per appointment.
Scheduling a Pickup
Place holds as before, logging into your account online and searching and browsing the catalog. If you want help placing a hold or picking out your next read, you can contact us at 603-863-3430 or email@example.com. You can watch a helpful video on how to place a hold. We can make suggestions or recommendations based on your reading history, or we can make up a “grab bag.” Also take a look at a new feature of our website, Book Lists, where you can find several genre lists put together by our staff. You can also find lists of new books in the library on our website here.
When we have your items ready for pickup, we will call or email you to let you know and at that time we can book your appointment or you can schedule your own using the following instructions.

- Under Choose a Provider, choose “Richards Free Library”
- Choose an available day and time from the calendar
- You can then create an account for future appointments, or skip the login process and enter your contact information
- Confirm your information then click “Book my Appointment”
- You’ll receive a reminder shortly before your appointment
Please allow us 24 hours to process holds.
Picking up Your Items
On the day of your appointment, you will have a 15 minute window to pick up your items. Please do not arrive prior to your appointment.
Items will be placed outside the library entrance, in bags labeled with your last name. Items will already be checked out to you – so feel free to take your bag and go! This is a no-contact service, meaning that staff will not be outdoors.
If you do not pick up your items or contact us, we will make an attempt to contact you before they are reshelved.
Please do not use the curbside pickup carts to return materials. You may return materials through our book drop.
We are taking every safety precaution to ensure community members and library staff stay safe. Staff must stay home if they present any symptoms of illness. All returned library materials are being quarantined for 72 hours (as recommended by SOLS and FOPL) after they are retrieved from the drop box. The library staff is washing hands, using hand sanitizer and wearing face masks when handling any library items. They are also being assigned to individual workstations, following cleaning protocols, and maintaining social distance from each other and the public. As a precaution, you may wish to quarantine library materials you pick up for an additional 72 hours before use.
